Title: setting up dcc locos
Post by: crust on April 10, 2007, 11:34:33 PM
I have a MRC Prodigy Express dcc system.  I just bought an engine off ebay that didn't have any box or paper work.  Can someone tell me what to program in for the "starting voltage" "acc" dec" and "max voltage"

thanks

You did not state what locomotive you have.

If it is one of the Bachmann non-sound DCC On Board (decoder equipped) then
You can set
CV 2 â€" Starting Voltage to a value of 1 to 31, the factory default is 10
CV 3 â€" Acceleration  to a value of 1 to 255, factory default is 1
CV 4 â€" Deceleration to a value of 1 to 255, factory default is 1
CV 5 â€" Maximum Voltage is not supported by the Bachmann decoder

It depends on the decoder in the locomotive.  Hunt sited but one example above.  If it is not a Bachmann locomotive, then you will need to determine what brand and model of decoder is installed.  For almost all brands, you can download the instructions from the decoder manufacturer's website.
