Title: Scale Hudson gear grease
Post by: 8215 on October 07, 2009, 01:09:36 PM
Hello,

Can someone tell me how to grease the gears/gear box on a scale Hudson?  Once I get the shell off, what next?

Thanks,

Bill

first of all, do not put your email address in a message. online bots can find messages on the internet and get your email address. scammers will look for you. if you set up you account here the correct way, members can email you by clicking on your name in the message. Most people here do not know about that or they hide their email address like I do.
clean the old grease of the gears with a toothpick. apply labelle gear oil. just a few drops. lubrication is a film of grease or oil, not flooded with grease or gear oil. labelle gear oil is thick almost like grease.

lex,
What is the use of a member clicking on your name to email you if you do not list your email in your profile?

Jim (who has always shown his email address in his profile.)

because some people like me prefer to remain anonymous. go back and read the message. some do not. it is all about choice.

On the directions, it talks about removing screws, etc..., but when I removed the 4 screws I thought they were referring to, I could not get the little black "box" out.  This box is connected by a flexible black drive shaft-looking thing.  When I pulled up, it looked like it was still attached.  I couldn't see anything else to remove.

I fear I was too subtle in my previous question.  I have been unable to contact you by email by clicking on your name, either in a message or in your profile.  Does this mean you did not set up your account in the correct way or am I doing something wrong?  When I try to send you a message, I get an error telling me "The letters you typed don't match the letters that were shown in the picture."  What is that all about?
