Title: Trestle building
Post by: #94 on November 12, 2009, 03:28:23 PM
Has anyone here ever dealt with Black Bear Construction? I am considering a Trestle Kit that includes their Trestle Jig to assist assembly.

i have worked with Black Bear Construction 'jigs' in both 'O' scale and Large Scale and had good results.  Some times I have used a smaller scales jig to create an 'older' looking trestle.

You won't find anything better.  The jigs work very well.
You will find the instructions are excellent as well, as is the support.
Mike Barrett is great to deal with.  Go for it.

I built a seven foot long combination deck and through truss bridge in "0" scale.
Without the jig it would have been a chore.

Thanks,

I plan to build a trestle 38' x 324' in HO to represent one near Hamilton Michigan.
