Title: On30 Annual features Bach-Man
Post by: mabloodhound on December 12, 2009, 06:08:07 PM
I just received the new 2010 On30 annual and our own Bach-Man has his story of the layout in Hartford featured with photos.
A very nice magazine this year and congratulations BM.

I haven't read that article yet. Did you see their 2-6-6-2 ad on the back cover?

IMHO, it's their best one yet. I've been a subscriber since the beginning.

I agree Mike.   They got rid of the cutesy background images behind the text which made it nearly impossible to read.

I agree with you. This annual really hit the mark for us On30 modelers, just like Bachmann has with their products.

What 0n30 annual is this, please?  I don't recall ever having seen one.

It's published annually by Carstens:

http://www.on30annual.com/

I buy it every year, but this year is my favorite issue.

I can't wait for mine to come! I placed my order within half an hour of it being posted on their website (was checking all day) so I was hopping to get mine first. Oh well, I know it'll be worth it.

Looks great!!  Just never heard of it, that's all.  How long has it been going?  I just might need to get all the back-numbers...

Thanks again.

If you go to Carstens website that's posted here, they show all the back issues.

The first issue was 2006. I have all of the issues but, strangley, my 2010 has yet to arrive. This is a really well done magazine that gets into some really nice modelling.

Hi there folks,

Woody - don´t worry: My one hasn´t shown up either.

They should be on their way:It´s been told via e-mail that they already started to send them out, but there was no 2010 issue in my mailbox today,...  :( :( :(
It´s a real good magazine, by heart I can´t wait to have it here...

Cheers, Tom

I got mine last week I think. I always order as soon as I see it advertised. I have every issue and my personal favorites are 2006 and 2010.

If you haven't received it, I would call Carstens.

I've been buying them from the beginning, but this issue is my favorite. I always love to see Al Askerberg's photography.

I recieved the 2010 On30 Annual and am happy with the issue.

However, I will admit to feeling intimidated by the craftsmanship of the people present in the issue. I am a plastic kit man, have been all my life... but the thought of .. assembling a building stone by stone is driving me crazy.

Much to learn but on the other token, I learned much from this one issue.

Heave,

So, you are driving yourself crazy. Sounds like you are procrastinating. It's a vicious cycle being driven crazy and procrastinating.

The only thing to do is to sit down at you work bench,  start playing around with materials and see what happens. That my friend is the hardest part of model making : starting. There, I have let you into the biggest secret of model making.

Get going, learn from your mistakes and have a great time doing it. That how everyone does it.

Lindsay.
