Title: g scale sound
Post by: carpenter on January 10, 2010, 12:07:36 AM
Hi, i'm new here & to the hobby. I'm 68  & just bought a bachmann g scale & want to build a garden railroad this spring. When i received my new engine (on ebay) i set it up to try it out  & didn't have any sound. I plugged in both connections where they go, moved the switch up & down & turned the volume control full both ways. I was using a small transformer form my ho set & was wondering if it was the problem. The engine did run just find. Anybody got any ideas. Thanks JERRY

Hi Jerry,
Did you put a 9volt Battery under the water hatch at the rear of the Tender. She won't go without that.

                       Cheers

I suggest you ask if any one lives in your area.  Building your layout and running trains is alot more fun if you have friends helping.

Bachmann track that comes with the sets can only be used in doors.
