Title: 0-6-0 engine won't move

I just purchased a second hand Bachman 0-6-0 with tender,The motor spins but the wheels won't drive. The motor worm gear wont stay ingaged with the mian drive gear. Has anyone had this problem and what is the fix?...Thanks

The screw holding the motor is is probably loose. It is directly under the cab. It can be seen by turning the loco over. Pretty easy to check. Too tight and the screw can cause the worm to bind.

My guess is this was one of the cardboard box versions that has a plastic frame that has a metal plate on each side. The curent split frame version has an extra bushing on the motor shaft now to keep that from happening.

Thanks for the info. Upon checking that I found that the motor housing has come loose at the seams. Going to try and fix. If I can't do you know if the new style motors will work in the old chassis.Thanks for all your help
