Title: Bachmann decoder
Post by: tirebiter3 on February 02, 2010, 01:41:07 PM
Will a Bachmann decoder fit into a Roundhouse 2-8-0 steam engine and a Roundhouse 4-4-0 steam engine without any difficulty?
Secondly will Bachmann's Dynamis wireless DCC operate analog type locomotives?

A standard Bachmann decoder will plug into a 8 pin receptacle in the 2-8-0 tender if tit is DCC ready.

The only Roundhouse loco I have came two years ago with a MRC sound decoder. I have not seen the loco as DCC Ready.
The conversion of a Roundhouse 4-4-0 to a Bachmann plug in decoder will not be easy. There is no PC board with the 8 pin connector.

I just looked at the Roundhouse site and they come Tsunami sound equipped but discontinued right now.

For the Dynamis question, read the manual.

No it cannnot run any DC (Analog) locomotives, it can only run DCC (Digitial) decoder equipped locomotives.
