Title: GE45 Mod Question
Post by: YellowHillsCentral on February 06, 2010, 08:18:48 PM
Hey'all..

Would moving the cab of a GE45 to one side of the locomotive defeat the purpose of having the counter weights?

Thanks

Can't think of a reason why it would matter!

Check this out: http://www.drgw.net/gallery/DRGW50NG/drgw50

I have seen others too!

I'm lost, what counter weights are you referring to  ???

The only counter weights I know of on the real thing are the ones on the axles and they have no connection whatsoever to anything involving the bodywork; they are there to counter balance the mass of the side rod drive.
