Title: Removal from box - glued in
Post by: UPWilly on June 25, 2010, 01:28:52 PM
I have N Scale structures (buildings) in display boxes that are glued to the bottom of box. What is the best way to remove the cardboard "platform" the structure was glued to (and why were they glued to the box)?

Forgive me if I get this wrong.  It's been a while.  I seem to remember a little warm water will release them.

Some European stuff is mounted the same way, for display purposes.  I remember some Noch products were mounted in their display boxes with some sort of weak glue that would let go pretty easily.

In their defense, it does cut down on damage during shipping.

Regards,

Jonathan

Thank you, jonathan. I tried warm water - used Dawn to make it wetter, but the glue seems to be non-water soluble. Guess I'll just have to cut, scrape and peel
