Title: Thomas train in G scale and small radius
Post by: jean-marie on July 23, 2010, 08:47:00 AM
Hello,
I am very disapointed because my Thomas train and these cars (Annie and Clarabel) not run in the small radius switch point (4ft or 30 degree).
For Percy and troublesome trucks (short cars), there is not a problem.
Have you a solution ? Change the couplers ?
Thank you for your answer.
Best regards, jean-marie (France)

The problem I had with Annie and Clarabel was that the buffers would hit eachother when going around a small curve and that would cause them both to derail.  The smallest radius I have on my layout is 18.  You might want to look into larger curves.  I haven't any problems since I put new ones in. ;)

I have a question about the Thomas product in general, I am planning to buy all the parts and put it together as such, but to coupling I want to convert from the decorative plastic hook and place in these in their place

if anyone has anything to say, please say so, I'm pretty sure your remarks are much more complimentary then my boss's remarks to me anyday.

I took their hooks off and added chains took about 10 minutes and looks and works great
