Title: need help with new F-3 which won't run
Post by: okiechoochoo on July 30, 2010, 04:25:06 PM
Purchased new F-3 and the front truck won't run.  The motor will not spin unless it is disconnected from the truck then it runs fine.  My O guage repairman and I have contacted Customer Service with no response.  What do I do.  Please help.

Take the motor out and try spinning the front wheels, if they turn smoothly you might have just a gear alignment problem. That happens when you don't line-up the gears with the teeth on the motor and will cause the motor to bind. If you can make sure the flywheel on the motor can turn freely after putting the motor unit back into the truck assembly and the wheels turn on the truck assembly.
I have taken some of my SD-45's and F-7's apart and re-assembled them and that is the only thing I can think of off hand.

Finally got hold of WBB parts and service and they are sending me a motor and truck assembly.  Hopefully, this will fix the problem.
