Title: Bachmann Percy Order
Post by: James The Red Engine on August 02, 2010, 06:15:37 PM
Dear Mr. the Bach-man,
I ordered a Percy off of wholesaletrains.com.  The model was expected to be back in stock on 7/30/10, but when that date came up they pushed it back to September 2010.  What is going on?

I checked TTstation.com and they don't even have Percy listed on their site.  Is something going on with the Bachmann company that they are not producing Percy anymore?

He's not really the engine to worry about though, besides the gray hook that is missing on his rear buffer beam. And they should be black, but I think they would redo James first.

I'm siding with sparks on this, Percy might be a trial retool?

If all of that would happen, then I wonder if anything is happening with James.

Title: Not Impressed with Bachmann Trains
Post by: James The Red Engine on August 10, 2010, 12:06:11 PM
Ok, I know that the people at Bachmann Trains do their best, but I have not been pleased with them lately.  I ordered a Percy back in June and according to the company I got him off of he was suppose to be available on July 30th, but he got pushed back to September.  Now, Bill and Ben who were suppose to be out in August are now pushed back to September.  Donald and Douglas who we all were hoping to be out by Christmas are now pushed back until 2011.  I'm not one to complain here, but what is the deal with Bachmann telling us one thing and then telling us another?  I'm getting sick of it to be honest. >:(

The economy is in the john and we should be happy to get 3 new products and a modification on an old product.

I have noticed every engine from Thomas to Edward on most websites is saying September 2010 but if you go to the products page on Bachmann and click order online they all say they are available . I DOUBT that Percy is getting retooled with 4 other engines on the way plus a large scale edition of James, also HO Tidmouth Sheds The Lightouse and Knapford on the way as well they just wouldn't have time. Some stores may just be having a hard time getting stock or there might be trouble in the factory that limits the engines shipped out so BACHMANN takes the few that they get so they can make a profit... Makes sense.

This site again only has Thomas & Salty something strange is up they are definitely not retooling them all and if they are doing some I would be upset they are not doing THOMAS!!!

I think only one of these posts is sufficient. So is everything being retooled?

Well, Train World (http://www.trainworldonline.com/catalog/index.php?sub_subsection_id=555) has inventory on all the HO models, except the new stuff like Bill and Ben. They're in the process of updating the site. I don't know what's up with the other sites not having inventory on the other items.
