I recently found 2 sets of Bachmann trains, that had a 4-8-8-4 Steam engine.. Since then they have both been sold, and I now find myself without one, and it seems that , that particular model, is not being produced any more....Any help that anyone can give me in procuring one of the locomotives only , or one of the sets with it in it....would be really appreciated ....It was in HO gauge, but I would also consider one in N gauge...thank you all.. bob warren
i believe the engine you are looking for is the bachmann 4-8-4 Union Pacific engine from the "Overland Limited" set

Bachmann never made a BigBoy (4-8-8-4) or Challenger (4-6-6-4), but they have made several different Northerns/ Js/ GS-4s/ Niagaras (4-8-4's). If you want one check ebay as they have the Union Pacific two tone grey 4-8-4s from the set available all the time.
If you meant Bachmann 2-6-6-2, these are a recent release and can be found at just about any online hobbyshop.
