Title: more about couplers
Post by: fosterte on August 27, 2010, 12:16:20 PM
I expect some-where in the past messages this has been answered already!
The Jackson Sharp coaches come fitted with a truck mounted coupler. It looks as though it would not be too hard to fit the straight Bachmann versions directly to the body. I am still in the planning stage of my garden railroad (replacing English SM32 - narrow gauge stock on O gauge track) with American G scale. Will coaches fitted as suggested work OK on 4 foot radius curves?

Yes, body-mounted couplers will work well on 4' radius curves; either Bachmann's body-mounted, Kadee's, or Accucraft's.

I have had problems with body mounted couplers with 4' rad. At slight "S'"made with 4' and at a siding until I added larger radius curves for the "S" section and siding.
