Title: Bachmann Climax (original issue) exploded view
Post by: TJ-Lee on September 13, 2010, 03:41:34 PM
I'm looking for an exploded view if the original Climax so I can figure out how to remove the tender shell. I know to remove the two screws from under the water valves but the tender won't tilt up from the front enough to unhitch the back brackets and I don't want to force anything.

Any help most appreciated!

Best,
TJ Lee

Don't know of any exploded diagrams except those in the Owner's Manual.

Just tilt the bunker back, as it explains in the Owner's Manual.  You have to kinda wiggle it around to get the two rear tabs free.  I have two of these locomotives and haven't experienced any problem removing the bunker.

JD,

Thanks. Turns out I had to remove a bar that extended across the back of the tender area before I could tilt the tender up high enough to disengage the tabs.
