"Bachmann 62256" is a catalogue number and means nothing to most of us on this board.

We need to know what locomotive this is.  Wheel arrange for a start would be most helpful and then we can help you.

I thought it was the HO DD40AX, if it is the N, it depends on when you bought it, if old new stock it could have Rapido couplers, dummy knuckles, and the ones coming out in a few months will have working knuckle couplers.

I searched the products page and found

DCC Equipped EMD DD40AX Centennial
Location: /N Scale/Motive Power/DCC-Equipped Motive Power

Very simple search.

As far as couplers go, I do not think Bachmann wants t you to know what couplers on the locos.
The couple ads I saw in the products does not say what they are. They do look like maybe a Kadee "type" N scale knuckle.
I do wish Bachmann would improve its model train info. They really stretch the Bach Man at times by not giving out the info modelers can use.

Rich.

Nice of you to search the products page but I feel that onus is on the person asking the question to provide as many details as possible.
