I was planning on running my 2-6-6-2T using the Quantum Aristo board, wireless receiver and batttery. Where is there space to put batteries and what type and size battery. I am hoping to get a minimum 2 hours running time.

I would use Li-Ion batteries; a 14.8 volt, 2600mAh pack. That will give you between 2 and 4 hours run time depending on how you run. I routinely get 3+ out of my Heisler with its two motors.

Two options for batteries:

This is the "standard" 4 x 1 Li-Ion flat pack. It's around 3" x 3" x 3/4". This will fit where the speaker is supposed to go. If you're not running sound, then you're not losing anything. If you are, you could probably fit this battery in the bunker. Depending on how large the opening is for the coal/oil load, you could probably work it so the battery is removable, so you can just swap out the dead pack for a fresh one. That'd be my first strategy, actually, as I'm not a fan of having to charge the loco itself.

Or, you can spend an extra $7, and get the same battery in a 2 x 2 flat pack array.

You'd have to measure, but if I recall correctly, this pack (around 5.2" x 1.5" x 3/4") should fit in one of the side tanks. You could consider getting two packs, hook them in parallel, and get twice the run time. (I would charge them individually, though. I'm not certain how the internal circuitry of the battery and charger work in terms of parallel charging.)

Good idea and thanks for the suggestions, I will see what I can find which fits. Not keen on cutting and modifying too much at this stage
