Are they kits? Some HO Bachmann buildings are RTR, and not called Plasticville. I think plasticville is just kits or Built-up kits, and anything alse is regular.

My recollection is that when Bachmann acquired the Plasticville line of buildings, they were stilll the S-O gauge structures that were around in the 1950s. In fact, many of the kits that I have acquired for my On30 layout now are still the same when I was a kid; they have to be using the same molds. Bachmann created their own line of N scale buildings which have nothing to do with the Plasticville line. I do wonder if N-scalers would respond to N-scale versions of the Plasticville line of buildings. Lee

There may be some structures like the water tank & coal loader that are similar in HO & N. It appears Bachmann no longer makes any N scale kits. Some of them were repackaged Heljan kits.

I'd like to see Bachmann add some variety to their structures. THey could redo some of the old kits with new colors. Painting/ weathering would make them look better.

There's such a shortage of structures in N that I'd like to see Bachmann & any other mfr's do more kits in N.

Good sources for N-scale include IMEX (on line search, several distributors...) and the old "LIberty Falls" series (now available at cruizn4sailz.com), These are solid resin-cast, ready to plant. Also, of course, Walthers has many, many by Pola and others, some simply N-scale versions of the same stuff that's in HO.

Dear All,
Bachmann did not "acquire" Plasticville; the O-S buildings were among the first plastic items we made in the late '40s.  The N Scale buildings were added to the line in the late '60s, and were not called Plasticville because they were pre-assembled.  Plasticville Built-ups are a relatively recent addition.
Have fun!
