Title: Phoenix Sound in 3 Truck Shay?
Post by: Deanbierly on June 07, 2007, 02:26:06 PM
I am a track powered LGB guy that has installed two Phoenix sound systems in my LGB locomotives.

I want to purchase a non DCC 3 truck shay and install a Phoenix sound system.

Has anybody done this?  What about magnetic triggers and power pickups.

Will I have to put the card in one car and the speaker in the other?

I see you have one real helpful reply.

All can go in the water tank, BUT:
While 96 and 97 boards required a "Big Boost" add-on to get the change voltage up at low geared loco speeds, which created many issues with older platic housed pickups, the new 2K2 has Big Boost built in.
What does that mean?

One customer has it in a 2-truck, and I have sent him, so far, two full sets of pickups.

Thanks for the help!

I have downloaded the instructions from Phoenix.  I should have thought of this.
