Title: AutoTrain of the 1970's
Post by: NSthoroughbred on December 14, 2010, 07:02:55 PM
Product suggestion!   1970's era AutoTrain by Bachmann Williams.  GE U33C locomotives and 72' cars in the 1970's white with purple & red stripes scheme, pre-Amtrak AutoTrain.

The first AT used U36B's.  But could you place the F/GP trucks onto the U33 body/frame?  the AT used traded in trucks from early F units on the U36's.  Also, these were like the U36B's SCL used on its lines.  ST rain on SCL tracks.

Dominic,
  Interesting info about the trucks.

For now I would be happy just having somthing made in Auto-Train, the U33C Williams by Bachmann makes could more likely get painted in Auto Train as it would not require any change in production, just a new paint scheme.

I could accept that.  The Dash 9 Amtrak was on BB trucks, but W/WBB used the CC unit.  But for the price I can accept it.
