Title: None existent User Instructions/Guide - Spectrum 0-4-0 Side Tank Porter
Post by: jimbo35 on December 24, 2010, 10:10:52 AM
I just bought a brand new O-4-0 Spectrum Porter (82599) and am surprised that an Instruction Book/User Guide was not in the  Box. In an earlier thread the omission of such Information (in the form of a DVD) DVD is apparently 'normal' according to the "Bach-man".
Can the loco be run straight out of the box ? Or does it need to be lubricated first (and occasionally thereafter?)  An explanation (for novices to Large Scale models - myself for instance) about the Polarity Switch would also be appreciated.
(I assume the "Large Scale" position is for conventional Control, the other for DCC ?)

A fine model.... but I don't want to wreck it out of ignorance !

At the very least--put a drop of plastic-compatible oil on the driver bearings and both ends if the motor shaft.  gj
