Title: 773 Hudson
Post by: TCAMD on January 11, 2011, 10:27:53 PM
I ordered a 773 Hudson product number 40298.  I'm running Lionel fastrack.  I assume I'm going to need 048 track or larger for the turns?  Any help would be appreciated.  I don't believe my 036 track will cut it?  Thanks in advance.  BTW - I have many prewar and postwar Lionel sets and I can tell immediately that Williams is making a very good product for the price.  The Blue Ridge Hauler set is beautiful and runs and smokes great!

2010 catalog says O-42 (page 78)

Try it on 036 curves and see what happens. I have a set of interurban passenger cars that were rated for 042 but will run on 036 Fastrac.
If you go fast or pull a long train, the company probally recomends 042 curves.

The original Lionel 773 would run on 0-31.

I just got the Pre-Bachmann Williams 773 Hudson and it runs OK on my O-36 Lionel Fastrack, slows a little but doesn't stop.  If you're getting one with the full scale sized 700T tender then it'll probably be O-42 only, mine has the smaller sized one which supposedly will take O-31 curves.
