Title: Bachmann GP50 Norfolk&Southern
Post by: Sunshine Express on June 16, 2007, 07:19:41 PM
I have just bought aGP50 Bachmann Norfolk&Southern Diesel. My choice would have been UP,SP.AT&SF,for my compact 8x4 Small Town Interchange Layout, with tight curves and numerous switching spurs, preferring 4wheel trucks and 40ft.cars.
Circumstances at the hobby shop demanded a quick purchase due to relocation, and I am asking if Norfolk&Sth.had any GP50 diesels and would they ever have met up with any of the above railroads ? I looked up Norfolk& Sth.Historical Society, but could not find any GP50,s.

I expect that a NS Geep would've been on the rails of all those comapnies.

With power pooling, leasing and special train assignments, I wouldn't be surprised if a NS loco found it's way to Cali. or the southwest.

I've seen a lot of foreigen power on local rails in the last few years, and with the mergers, I expect a lot more.
