Title: dcc gp 30 diesel loco convert to dc

I have a item 60807 - ho gp 30 diesel loco - dcc equipped that will not run on dc track, how do I convert it to work. have read several on line articles but none of them seem to match this loco. please help

It is DC/DCC equip ed. It should run out of the box on DC. The circuit board must be bad. You can contact Bachmann service and see if they will send you another board.

You can also remove the shell to get to the board. Check to see if all the wires are connected. You can remove the two wires going to the motor to see if it runs without going thru the board. You could also remove the board but you would have to rewire everything direct.

Did you buy this locomotive new?  The ability to run on DC is controled by a bit in CV-29 and it's possible that a previous owner has disabled DC operation.  If you have a friend who has a DCC system, have him reset your decoder by writing the value 8 to CV-8.  Or, your LHS may be able to do that for you.  Hope this helps.
