Nice article, looks like you could easily use the Tenergy lithium Ion batteries instead of the Nicads and almost any brand of R/C control with great results.

Thank you gentlemen.

If I could obtain Li-Ion batteries here in Australia that had proper battery cut of IC's built into them I would likely give Li-Ion a chance.

I do have a couple of nearby customers long term testing locally assembled Li-Ion battery packs for me.  So far so good, but they do not cut off properly.  At least locally I can get them back to resurrect them if they do go too low in voltage.
Importing them into Australia is out of the question because of weight considerations and the likely problem with the airlines of actually transporting them by air postage.
In the meantime I am stuck with NiCd or NiMh. Or, in this case the hybrid NiMh/Alkaline AA cells I used.  They work just fine and are easy to fit in.
