Title: What does "Standard Pack: 12" mean?
Post by: Loco-Man on April 17, 2011, 10:05:03 PM
I've browsed through the 2011 Bachmann Catalog and seen Standard Pack numbers mentioned in many places. Can someone shed a light on these numbers for a noob such as myself? Thanks.

It is how many items are in a case that distributors purchase, it is not applicable to you.

That's a reasonable question and a good answer. I was wondering the same thing myself. The terminology in this hobby is pretty confusing sometimes. This bulletin board is a fantastic help with questions whether simple or complicated. There's always people willing to help.

It can be a handy thing to know when ordering  items like cars or track from a mail-order shop --  For example, baxk when I ordered certain cars, knowing that the "standard pack" was four, I ordered in fours  so that they were eaasier for the dealer to ship--sometimees good for a break on shipping.  I ordered log cars and dump cars based on this info/  gj
