I have track power. The new Climax comes with either a DCC ready "dummy plug" for track power or a DCC/Sound board. Is it possible to configure the DCC/Sound board to use the on board sound but run on track power?

I, too, am a bit confused by the ads I have seen. Will the sound equipped unit work audibly on a DC powered layout? Any input would be appreciated.

You'll get the chug - chug but you need a digital controller to access the whistle, bell and other auxiliary sounds. It is a DCC sound board.
