Well, it seems like the railroad always has something new to offer, and for an over sized load... this is quite a variety for 1 train!
Can someone tell me what the loads were? I can tell tha the yellow machinery was CAT equipment, half of it being either bulldozers or buckets for equipment. Train I.D. was NS 053
Looked like a lot of steel, coil steel, sheet steel and some finished products from the Cat Factory. Do I get a prize if I am right? :D

Only a guess but... wire spools (or steel as Jim mentioned), lumber, heavy machinery and who knows what in the gons.

i can't tell for sure, but the tarped loads look like something we'd delivered to several power plants in the pittsburgh area in about 2002. transformers maybe? if so that would explain the reels, which could be high voltage cable.
Mow train? The ties are under the tarps and spools contain the new "roll-up" rail.
Yes sir, you don't want to get those new ties wet. I could not see them that good. Just wondering if the might be those large round bales of hay. Large rolls of TP. No really I think it is spools of cable. Maybe the cats are for laying the cable. or even plastic pipe.
if those were bales of hay, maybe that's why terry called it a "mow" train. wonder which car has the mowers?

Lol nice one... But yeah they should be spools of cable. See those loads on Ice Road Truckers quite frequently...
Loads on reels looks like high voltage electrical cable as the reels appear to be wrapped in a protective cover. Green plastic wrap? Hard to tell. Or, it could be reels of green plastic pipe.
I'm assuming everyone knows there is no such thing as rail that can rolled on a spool. ;D

I did a search on your reels I agree with the poster in this discusion . That the reels have flexible plastic gas pipe .

I have to admit that I did for just a moment. I mean, I know there are no roll-up rails, but I thought perhaps you don't. Then it hit me that you were just playing.
