Title: Lead Truck Jumping off the track
Post by: rgraham2208 on September 24, 2011, 05:13:22 PM
New owner of a Eureka & Palisade #81396- 4-4-0

During initial operation having trouble with front wheels jumping off the track.
Appears that they are so loose with free movement enabled by the spring that they move around and eventually begin to drag as the drive axel propels the locomotive forward

Suggestions Please.

Does it happen in the same spot? or random?

1 check track Joints

2.check the wheel gauge, they may be se too wide, or too narrow.

3.Check your track gauge.

most lead trucks are very loose but should not derail unless something is causing them to ride up or bounce up.
