Just ordered 2 of the Shay gear repair drivelines from the very friendly and helpful parts department (thank you Cynthia!) and wondered if the latest production On30 Shays (if they are still produced) are factory-equipped with the new and stronger gears?! Is this is the case does anybody know from when on they were so modified and whether there is any sign of this on the packages?

There have not been any production runs of On30 Shay locomotives since the gears were improved.
Does the current Climax stock have the new gears or the old?
Will the Heislers have the new gears or the old gears?
Seems to me we all have alot of gear problems,yet very few answers from the B-man?

Availability of new gears for the Shays Climaxes is good news, but there is still the On30 Railtruck, which is notorious for having broken gears. Visually, it is a very appealing piece of equipment, but not so much so if it can't be run. How about it Mr. Bachmann, any hope for relief for those of us who have our Railtrucks sitting on sidings with broken transmissions? Pleeeease!!!
