Title: lawndale box car
Post by: Bill Miller on February 08, 2007, 03:29:57 PM
Saw the announcement of the ON30 Lawndale Box car on the net. Any plans for more cars with this North Carolinia Narrow gauge name on them?
How about a set with loco and the little shortie combine. (see Matt Bamgarners book on the Lawndale.)

Mr. Bachmann-

Your On30 gon is pretty dang close to the Lawndale prototypes as well. Pop the pilot wheels off your Forney, shorten the smokebox just  a smidgen, and you could have a real cool train with your new boxcar and a string of the gons. Maybe add the Lawndale name to the Forney offering and let folks decide how much they want to modify it, if at all?

Thanks for this neat roadname.

Now where the heck is that ET&WNC ten wheeler??   :>)

Remember, the 2011 Narrow Gauge Convention is in North Carolina. Get this Lawndale line rolling, an ET&WNC line, and an On30 4-4-0 lettered for the Chester & Lenoir Narrow Gauge and you will have covered the 3 biggest (and most famous) of the southeastern narrow gauge lines. Oh, I can suggest several other names for your logging locos as well.

Matt

The ten-wheeler will be the biggest aspect of the North Carolina narrow gaug railroads. Me being a fellow North Carolinaian would love to see it all for all the reasons, My biggest reason is to save tweetsie railroad for it seems to be about to loose it's steam. The road names that follow Tweetsies shortlines and branch lines and main lines of the past would bring big industry to the theme park and allow the park to bring in money to sustain opperation in the future. I may not work, but would love to, the place has sentamental values for me. All the rolling stock such as the box cars and gondoles menchend with those road names will be a great addition on the On30 line. I will by'em.
