Did you know about Air Marshal Sir Robert Saundby, of WWII RAF Bomber Command fame?
Not sure if Wiston Churchill ever had a model railway. It's the first I've heard of it.
what about gary coleman, who had a layout based on the rio grande in n scale.
Don't forget Sheldon Cooper. ;D
Does Elton John's trackgo through the tulips? :D
Terry,
That would be Tiny Tim. Elton would have his following the yellow brick road.
don't know if they were model railroaders or not, but both ringo starr and george carlin were on thomas the tank engine. do you know the 7 words no steamer can say on tv?
Richard Nixson
Tom Brokaw of NBC News.
dont forget joe dimaggio, roy campanella, tom snyder,
Merle Haggard, Sam Posey,
Ronald Reagan and Sally Jesse Raphael (sp)

Sergent Hans Georg Schultz was a model railroader? Or John Banner? One more reason to like the guy, even though we were not related.

The Master Demolition Man;
Gomez Addams (John Astin) of The Addams Family!!
If you've never seen an episode where he heads two trains straight at each other, (Very large, G or larger) destin to crash head on at the bridge ahead.......But they never hit each other...
Any recall?
Kelly
Thanks for the memory, I recall the explosive action quite well. That was a Lionel O gauge set as I recall. I'd like to see that on Big Bang Theory!
Wow,
There is an "exploding bridge" in HO that I've seen in recent past. I will seek it out again, and post it here later!!
Too Much Fun,
Kelly
There was no such thing as G gauge trains when the Addams Family TV show was playing. If I recall correctly, the trains were by Lionel.

I remember the sequence she did of the husband getting into model trains. I have a tee-shirt with a panel of the family with the trains. The caption is something like, "Model railroading isn't a hobby, it's a way of life." :)
JBJ,
I believe this link will take you directly to the strip you mention:

Terry,
It looks like Southwest Chief has fixed his link, so I have removed my previous post.

Thanks, Jim--though that's not the image on my tee-shirt. :)
The guy in the comic strip started with an indoor layout but later built an outdoor layout:
