Does Bachmann sell just the red connection wire that goes from the re-rail track to the plug jack on the back of the E-Z Command controller?

Yes they do. Check places like The Favorite Spot or Ziggysmarty on line or your local hobby shop. If you don't see it listed e-mail them as they break new sets down and sell individual items.

Is yours damaged or missing? If the wire is damaged you can fix by soldering in another length of wire to fix. I added a section to extend the length

I need a second wire for my Christmas layout because I hard wired the original in my permanent layout.

I suggest fudging your connection with regular wire. The pre-fab wire
from Bachmann is exhorbitantly expensive.

You could make your own with a mini-stereo plug from Radio Shack. According to my trusty ohm-meter, the wires connect to the 'Ring' (center) and 'Sleeve' (closest to plug body) connections, ehe 'Tip' (end) connection is not used.
