just wondering what's your favorite Colorado NG rr such as D&RGW RGS C&S Unita RR CCRR D&SL Silverton rr SNRR SG&N DSP&P F&CC Colorado Midland or the Pikes Peak cog line
The Gilpin Tramway. It was small and funky, as narrow gauge should be. 2 foot gauge, all locos were small Shays, and the Shays hauled passenger excursions as well as ore and freight.
Hamish
forgot to say that that one was a pretty cool Railroad but it would seem hard to model
My favorite is the C&S between Golden and Silver Plume.
As a bonus Devils Gate bridge, very awesome to ride up and over the tracks you were just on.
The Cumbres & Toltec
I realize it originates in New Mexico but it does wander in and out of Colorado.
Hamish - That's a great site about the Gilpin.
The virtual tour is really neat. http://gilpintram.com/files/Gilpin_Tram.wmv (http://gilpintram.com/files/Gilpin_Tram.wmv)
Anything Colorado and any era. My most favorite is the Colorado & Southern around the turn of century. :D
I have backdated several of the Bachmann moguls to 1900-1902 using the old Xedon pancake stacks and shorten the boiler to the TOC length. That entertwined C&S looks nice on the cab!
I am working on trying to post photos.
