Title: Tender Couplings
Post by: NiteFox on January 20, 2012, 09:00:25 PM
Hello. I was wondering if I could get help on my Emily's tender coupling? Compared to my Edward model (those are the only two tender engines I have), he has a higher placed and less flimsy coupling.  Is there a way I can fix Emily's?  Her coupling is low and it causes problems when she goes up hills.  Is there a way to put it up higher?  Thank you.

If you look at the coupling there is a spring which is part of the couplings assembly. If this spring is on the wrong side of the coupling ie on top when Emily is the right way up the coupling is too low and will unhitch her from her tender at the most annoying of moments. Carefully remove the screw swap over the placement of the spring and coupling, this will push the coupling up and keep her tender attached. Hopefully this should resolve your problem.

Glad to hear it. I speak from experience as the same thing was wrong with my Emily.
