To my knowledge, the GP38's had only four wheel trucks.

If only a photo, up load to Photo Bucket and then up load the photo bucket link here. Free to do.
That is how photos are generally posted here.

When you get your account, there will be four options. Use the fourth one, IMG. Copy that one to the forum here.
Try to figure out what you want for albums. This can get addictive and you loose track of where a particular photo is.

Here is a photo from my album I just uploaded.
With a browser opened to the Bachmann forums and a second browser opened to Photo Bucket, You see the four options. IMG is the fourth one. Place the PC cursor over it and click. You will see copied. Go to the Bachmann forum and post that into the message.
Don't try to click on the IMG link in my photo. That will not work. Some have tried that.

I am having trouble reading the text on the loco. Looks like NS11 but cannot pick out the other letters. I see what looks like a business car.

Could be.

Can you pick out any letters and numbers? I might be wrong on the NS11.

Looks like it. I just found the photo of NS 34. Fun research. Must have been renumbered.

Where did you see this?
I live in Western, MA, Pan Am RR country, called the Patriot Corridor and see a NS once in a while. Both companies are linked.
The rails though my area are being upgraded to double track for the Amtrak, Vermonter.

Yep, that's the NS geometry train, I've ran into it more than once in person.  :)

that research slug is not actually a locomotive, but contains the instrumentation for measuring forces related to the track which are read in the passenger car that travels with the train. i am not exactly sure of its capabilities, but it is something along the lines of the doodlebugs that sperry uses.
