Title: Decoder for 2-6-0
Post by: steelrail on March 29, 2012, 06:09:04 PM
I have a DC 2-6-0 that I want to convert to DCC . Does Bachmann have a plug in decoder or will I need to hard wire. I have not disassembled the engine yet , want to know what I need before I do so .

Dear Steel,
There's no socket in this loco; you'll have to wire it in.
Have fun!

Which brand, scale? Second hand 2-6-0 does not tell us much.

What you did is hijack a thread. Suggestion in the future, start you own thread.

Harold offered a suggestion. Did you look at it?
You do not have to use his sound option. The decoder Harold suggest is not longer made. The Tsunami is a better one but about $90.00 the last time I looked. Non sound decoders are around $20.00.

Look at the below site. This is not for the faint of heart.
