I have one of the newer 2 truck Shays. The wire to the chuff contacts has broken. I can see the wire because I removed the two screws that hold the cylinder assembly but I cannot remove the assembly. What is the proper procedure for removing the assembly and what would you suggest as to how to go about repairing the broken wire to the chuff contacts?
Open the ashpan, inside are two holders, which you should turn 90°. So you can remove the engine.
The two srews from outside you removed already.
Now you can see the connections for the chuff on the backside of the engine.
