Title: DCC CONTROLLER-AMP BOOSTER-POWER SUPPLY??

Hello Everyone,

What is a good setup of a controller-amp booster-power supply to run multiple trains on DCC?
I just don't think that the 5 amp booster is going to be nearly enough.
Should I go with a 24VDC power supply also?
I want something actually made for G-Scale.

What locomotives do you plan to run?  Do you want to do multi-unit lash ups?  Do you want high speeds?

I use an NCE system with the 10 amp booster.  Most of my locomotives draw about 1 amp of power so I can run 6 or more trains off of the one booster.  Since I run mostly geared locomotives I prefer low speeds and have the output set to 16 volts.

The most important thing is keeping the voltage drop down. plan on multiple power feed points anywhere you have long runs and multiple trains running on one loop.

I am going to start off running 2 Bachmann 4-6-0 locomotives with the TCS 1303 (G8) decoders.
I would also like to keep this in the $300-400 dollar range, so I might be looking for something used if the price is right.
Is the NCE system the way to go, or are there others made for G-Scale?

Most DCC manufactures make systems aimed at Large Scale / G Gauge.  They will probably be above the price range you want.
