Which Micro-trains coupler conversion is recommended for the Spectrum N Dash 8-40CW ? This is the latest version with the full face pilot /plow and body mounted Rapido coupler.

The Micro-Trains Coupler Conversion data sheet for Bachmann locos lists conversion kit #2004 (001 02 052)-1, with the footnote that "you'll need to file some of the coupler pocket to allow the draft gear box to fit." The page also lists the loco as a Dash 8-49C/CW. Walthers lists MTL item 1164 Body Mount Conversion (sku#489-133040) as the correct kit to fit the Spectrum Dash8-40C, no mention of the CW. Perhaps you should send an email to MTL, including the sku number of your loco to verify if you have any doubts, since Bachmann has been known to make upgrades to their locos without obvious changes to their external appearance.
