Rich, you're going to make my brain explode from all the inspiration, I would like to do things like this on my pike, but at the moment I'm still building the mainline, it's bout time I made room for it haha!
But the Animitronics featured in the second video had me thinking for sure, if it can be done in HOn3 imagine the possibilities in normal HO! I can imagine an engineer waving out to the onlooker in my M-78 haha!
Many years go someone did a project where the loco engineer turn his head or body to look back when running in reverse. This was well before DCC as I recall. I still have the magazine but do not remember which issue in the pile.
