Title: HO Iron Mike set.
Post by: jeromeleo on July 31, 2007, 07:15:15 AM
I just received a Bachmann HO set from my uncle.  It was purchased  at least 20 years ago.... maybe more????

It is a Bachmann "Iron Mike Set" with a smoking engine, a tender, and 5 additional cars.
The Steam engine is an "AT & SF," the tender is 2126.  The trellis is lighted.
The cars are assorted.  There is a power pack and an oval track set.
The item number on the original box  is 127.

This is all packaged; each item  is in original  packs.  It seems to me that the entire box has yet to even be opened.

I am trying to find the value of this .  Can anyone help me? There is nothing like it on ebay. Other sights don't show it at all.

The title on the box is BACHMANN "5" HO -Iron Mike.

If anyone can enlighten me, I would be grateful.

Thanks.

That's not a "5", its a "B", the Bachmann logo.

The set is worth less than it originally cost. The equipment is far inferior to the modern product and plastic model trains have no collector value. Open it, play with it, give it to a child. Just don't expect to gain anything by keeping it longer and don't expect to get rich selling it. I paid 40.00 for a far superior, modern set this year.
