Title: Norfolk & Western Class J
Post by: FrLarry on June 24, 2012, 05:39:10 PM
I have acquired a Norfolk & Western Class J, 4-8-4 #600 with Tender and Light.  It is new, still in original box.

As I am not a model railroader, I am interested in selling it, but have no idea where, how or what price to place on it.

Would anyone on this forum be willing to advise me?

Thanks!

It depends on which version it is. There hasn't been a #600 done that I know of.

If it is the early cardboard box version of the loco, it is pretty much worthless as most of them don't run anymore due to a chronic problem with the drive gears cracking.

If it is a current Spectrum version, the average price in the secondary market seems to be between $40-70, again depending on which number and version of the loco.
