Yes but the whole front truck assembly is listed here for

Fr. Power Truck (New-Doodle Bug)(HO Scale) $12.00

and after taking it apart i found no cracked gears so i'm wondering if its
the housing its self causing the thumping noise

I was hoping one of the staff would answer the question of when that part would be available
I can't call because i am mute due to throat cancer

I saw something yesterday about the cap on the truck housing, inside the body being loose and causing noise.....I'll try and find the article and post the link here for you

Ok...go to this link.    http://cs.trains.com/mrr/f/88/t/157193.aspx.       and check posts #6 and 7.....maybe this loose clip thingy is your problem if the gears aren't cracked

Thanks for the link but the clip is not the problem
it actually makes a thumping noise like it has a flat wheel
i'm wondering if the whole housing may be warped since i can find no cracked gears

Yes i do
The only other thing i can think of is the drive shaft is causing the
thumping

You have run it with the body off and as much of the workings exposed as possible...right?

OK...was the thumping there before the sound was installed? Im wondering if its being caused by some part of the sound installation...a wire touching a moving part or the decoder or speaker interfering with something.
I just ran my Doodlebug...I had installed a non-sound decoder in it when I got it last year...definately doesn't have that thumping sound. Id be very suspicious about something of the decoder or speaker system in yours interferring with the running gear OR just somehow magnifying the volume of a previously unnoticeable sound. Ill be interested to hear about your solution.
Cheers

excellent...are you going to dissect the faulty truck and see if you can figure out what was causing the noise???

I found no broken or cracked gears however one wheelset had a short
I'm wondering if the insulator in the center of the wheel fell out and caused the wheel to be out of round   ???
