Title: 2-4-4-2 unknown part
Post by: John on October 04, 2012, 09:49:54 PM
In one of the extra bags with the new 2-4-4-2 there was a small box looking piece with three round mounting tabs on the underside. What is it and where does it go?

What does the diagram show that comes with the loco?
All the Bachmann locos I have bought come with a diagram.

Hi,
this part #S283Y-00Y01 is an fuel tank for the tender. If you want not heat coal in your loco, remove the coal load from tender body, then you can fix the fuel tank.

hi John,  i found the part & number in the diagram.
it looks like it has the same pins that 00Z07 it goes on the firebox in place of the coal feed doors.(maybe for oil fired?)
00Z07 is just to the left of the boiler/firebox ass.
willis.

I think you are right. It was in the bag with the oil tank. I was not thinking replacement part instead I was looking for some empty holes. Thanks.
