Title: minimum radii for the C19's please?
Post by: peterbunce on October 17, 2012, 04:16:41 PM
Hi

My railroad has a minimum radii (on Flexitrack) of about 4ft 6 inches: I have a C16 and that goes round OK, will the C19 also go round please?

Do we have a minimum radii for it?

Yours Peter.

Peter, I read somewhere in all the various discussions here and there that the minimum radius was 2.5' (5' diameter). Don't remember if that was from the horse's mouth in terms of a stated minimum, or anecdotal evidence about what it fit around.

Having said that, Accucraft states the minimum radius for their C-19 is 4' (as it is for all their locos including the Ks), and my scratchbuilt C-19 fits around an LGB 1600 curve without difficulty. (That's 3' 10" or thereabouts radius.) I can't think of a reason why the B'mann C-19 would be any different. I think you're perfectly safe with 4.5' radius curves.

Later,

K

Dear Peter,
Kevin is correct. 1600 or equivalent will be fine.
Have fun!
