In my opinion my WbB small Hudson is an extremely nice locomotive. It runs great and looks awesome. I like the traditional sized and featured locomotives and I especially like the large die-cast tender with this locomotive!

In this photo my Pennsy Alco from Williams have just croosed the arch bridge and have taven the switch track to go through the busy junction as my ancient 675 steamer from Lionel (1949) waits.

Your layout looks great! I see a lot of exposed bare wood. If you are going to put "grass" in those areas, here is an idea.
McMaster Carr is an on line catalogue. Take a look at...'Sweeping Compound'. item # 7264T15. This is a green colored Woodfiber and Wax product.
I used it this year on our building's public train layout display. It is a green fluffy product similar to what you buy in the hobby shops for $10-$15 a pound.
You can buy a 50 lbs. container for $43.14.. That will easily cover all of your bare spots. You will have enough left over to use as a sweeping compound. I.E. garage floor, concrete floors, etc.
I installed/applied this product by using a heavy coating of lighter/ medium brown latex paint, and then sprinkled the compound over the paint to adhere it to the train table.
It looked great! The light wax smell dissipated within a day or two. I then sprinkled some decorative snow flakes to complete the winter scene.
The green looked great, and it is cheap !!!!

I had always wanted an A-B-A set of Baldwin RF-16 Sharks. Especially in the Pennsy freight colors. Now I am kicking around the thought of picking up another B unit! I think an A-B-B-A lash-up would look impressive!!! ;D

I have been doing a little more work on the layout the last couple of days. I have started building my tunnel first and then the mountain over it. Kind of backwards from the prototype, LOL. The mountain came first and then the tunnel in the real world. I want my tunnels to be lined. In my opiniom nothing ruins a nice mountain more than a tunnel that shows that the mountain is hollow when you look into a tunnel portal.

You don't need to line the whle tunnel unless you can look in one portal and see out the other.
If it is curved do only a little further than you can see.

My lower level tunnels will probably only have walls for the first 8 to 12 inches. The tunnel on the upper level is double tracked and about two feet long on a curve. It will have walls the full length of it as it is in a prominent location. One will be able to lean down and watch the train comming around the bend with the headlight glowing.

The other tunnel portal will be located at the bottom of the photo. You can see one at the top of the photo. You will just slightly be able to see out the other end. I am also putting a roof on the tunnel. That way the steam locomotives will be able to fill the tunnel with smoke like the real thing!

Make sure that you have accessto the inside of the tunnels
because if something happens in a tunnel you want to be able
to fix the problem.This is especially true for longer tunnels.

Okay, I worked on my tunnel some more today. It is slowly getting there. I got some of the walls up. I need to finish the other tunnel portal supports and run the walls up to it. I ballasted some of the tunnel also. In one photo you can see my Williams by Bachmann Baldwin Shark diesel going on a "Test Fit".

The curves inside of the tunnel are 48 and 60 inch diameter. Hopefully that will lessen the odds of any derailments. Actually, knock on wood, I have had none in this area in the three years since I built the layout. The tunnel is short enough that I can reach into it from either end.

The rock walls are available from Scenic Express and are available in several styles.
If you want smaller rocks you can use HO walls.

Thanks everyone for the compliments. The tunnel portals and matching wall are from Scenic Express and the tunnel walls (random stone) are from Micro Mark. The random stone walls are actually a self adhesive paper sheet which I applied to foam board walls. The foam board is stapled and glued to 1x4 supports. I plan on ballasting inside the tunnels and then putting a ceiling on the tunnel. After the tunnel is finished I will build the mountain over it.
