Title: Acela Amtrak DCC Set
Post by: skadoo323 on December 14, 2012, 12:55:29 PM
Hello,

My dad got the HO gauge Amtrak Acela DCC set and supposedly it has some way to open the doors and raise the part that is to touch an overhead power line, but I can't seem to find any mention on how to do this when I read the material in the box. Does anyone know how I can perform these functions with the set? Thanks in advance!!!

Skadoo,

The doors on the locomotive are spring loaded.  You can gently push them in and should "spring" back into the closed position.  Be careful.  This spring can be pushed out of postition if handled roughly.  Ask me how I know this.

It's been a long time since I maneuvered the overhead mechanism.  I think I remember that they, also, can be moved up or down with your fingers.  Go gently.  I could be wrong on that one.

These two features are definitely not motorized, if that's what you are asking.

Regards,

Jonathan
