Title: #6CrossoverTurnout
Post by: pjf on March 24, 2013, 10:36:02 AM
Hello, anyone with EZ Track layout having a #6 Crossover turnout. I am concerned for clearance between the parallel track. Would two On30 loco or rolling stock pass without touching. Thank you for your reply. pjf

the HO #6 crossover tournout is for HO - clearance and not for the greater On30 - clearance. There is a big difference between. For On30 you need 3'' spacing.
See NMRA Standards S-7 (old time O Scale) and S-8 (On3). (

The spacing between the tracks is 2 3/8.

Thank you for the info. I put 2 tracks at 2-3/8 center to center and there is enough spacing  for passanger cars or a 4 6 0 to pass. It will  touch on 18" curves.
This kind of info should be available from Bachmanns product catalogue but it is not.

As  stated  above   there is  a  BIG difference  between H0 & On30!

The track  to  which  you refer  does not look correct anyway  the  sleepers (sorry  TIES in the USA)  are  smaller  and  closer  together  due to  the  diference in scale.

Also 0n30 is a narroww gauge  system  where  the  actual track on the the  real  thing  did not look  much like standard  gauge track,

www.   take a look at the Peco website  and you will see what I mean  ref the sleepers and appearance. If  you have a copy  of 0n30 annual 2013  look at  the Peco and Microengineering ads on Page 110
