Title: DCC programming and a few Porter questions thrown in
Post by: HK Porter on April 10, 2013, 10:33:18 AM
does the E-Z Command® Digital Command Control System allow me to do cv programming ie light dimming etc or do I need a dynamis?

also with the new 0-4-2 Porters I was going to swap the shell from an older one with the new one to get an all black 0-4-2 are the screw holes the same ?

Can I assume the 0-4-0 is as good as the 0-4-2, looks like the bell etc is the same as the 0-4-2 not the shiny plastic and did the 0-4-0 retain the cab light ?

great products Bachmann, just need a short passenger and baggage car to go with them and life should be perfect.

Dear HK,
The EZ Command cannot change CVs; you will need Dynamis or other advance system (Lenz, NCE, etc,) to do this.
I haven't tried to swap shells, so I have no idea- perhaps someone else has.
Have fun!

I have not tried swopping the tanks but the cabs have different methods of being secured to the engine. Old cabs are held on by a tab and slot. New are held on with screws.
